snow day

Her vision became spotty as she lifted herself from bed. Seemed pointless. She sat at the edge, hands on her knees as she tried to cry. But there were no more tears left to give. No tears left to prove the emptiness she felt. She gave up trying to force a sob and instead shuddered as she stood, preparing herself for the day. She walked over to her dresser as her eyes focused in on the dust accumulating on the tupperware sitting at the edge, ready to fall off. She pulled her drawer open as she rummaged around quietly for a bra. She needed support from somewhere at least. Going through her daily morning routine, tiptoeing around the room to dress herself and pack her bags, she shuddered again. This time, again, shrugging it off.

Closing the door behind her, she walked down the stairs and looked out the hall window. ‘Amazing,’ she thought to herself. ‘Another amazing day.’ she finished as the window bore witness to the bitter snowfall.
