lucky to be

I am snapping out of it. I am snapping out of this self-pity I have been subjecting myself to. I am snapping myself out of this "woe is me" and I'm so unlucky mindset I've held on to so tightly. I am snapping myself out of the negative thoughts and the battle I've had with my mind for the past month and a half. None of it matters. Yes we can have our troubles and our moments of doubt, but I'm realizing I've let mine go on too long. I have been wasting so much time and not remembering how blessed and how fortunate I am to have and to be experiencing I currently am. I am so so so lucky to have a loving family and this unique opportunity here at Harvard. Every meal I eat is amazing because I HAVE a meal to eat. Every friend I have is so precious because PEOPLE are so incredibly special. Every conversation is a valuable use of my time because no one can ever replicate those intimate moments created in holding a conversation with others and listening to their stories. Every tear shed is important because it lets me know what I am passionate about and what gets me riled up.
I am done pitying myself. I have so much more important things to be doing and seeing than letting myself wallow in such unwarranted negative thoughts. I instead should be reminding myself how LUCKY I am, how FORTUNATE I am, how BLESSED I am to have the things I do because some people would give absolutely anything to be in the same situation I am in.
This is not to say that anyone's experience is more or less important/life changing than another's but it's a reminder to myself and to others who may be battling their own mind with inexplicable questions that sometimes, we just have to let it go and remind ourselves of the positives in life because there are so many.
