The Missing Piece

We judge, nitpick, and essentially find every single flaw that we can in those around us because it's easy, entertaining, and one more thing to talk about. But what we don't realize is that what we say is powerful, more than we think, as it can hurt, cut, and damage those involved. Assuming and judging may be simple, but its repercussions can become much more grave than we would ever expect: we don't know where our words will go and what kind of effect they will have. We might be detached from the consequences, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't think about them - instead of calling her a slut or whore or calling him a player or womanizer, have you thought that there could be a backstory, one that you may not know about? One that could change the story completely? I have. Although I'm not perfect at it, I don't want to label, confine, and insult people and limit them to one name or reputation because I might not know the full story.

After finishing half the puzzle, how will I know if the picture shows a crocodile or an alligator? A difference that's seemingly insignificant but highly important to some. But I can't blame anyone because this comes so naturally - jumping to conclusions - because it's easy and worth the gossip and speculation. Storytelling can be really entertaining, but that's all it is: a story.
