Actions > Words

You can say sorry as many times as you want, you can send me essays of apologies and how you weren't thinking at the time, you can spend hours trying to convince me how sincere your feelings are, you can talk to me and write as much as you want, it won't matter. The first couple of times, sure, I'll understand and I'll take your words to heart because we're all human and we all make mistakes. But after the millionth call, text, plea, and message, I'm done. Because at that point, your repeated actions have shown me enough, more than your empty words ever could. To me, actions speak much louder than words and I agree that statement has become a little too trite, but during my high school career, I learned that this hackneyed phrase reached me in ways that I would have never expected. Words can easily be fabricated or tampered with because they are in our control and can be easily edited with a push of a button or a brush of our fingers. But our actions? They show so much about a person: their true intentions, their thoughts, their subconscious. But I understand - we make mistakes, I mean we're all human right? But there comes a time when they're no longer mistakes but they're indicators of who we really are.
