Language & Words

Have you ever thought about the words that you say? The language you speak? How much they are actually able to describe what you are experiencing? I've found myself wiggling my arms around or flailing in dismay as I cannot find the words that truly describe my emotions: all so complicated and all too jumbled up in a mess in my head. The world is full of so much potential for varying experiences and indescribable feelings: not everything can be packaged nicely into the separate denotations and connotations that each word holds. Our language and words can only say so much until we realize that we aren't truly expressing ourselves with the limitation that is verbal communication.
Personally, I can't imagine a world with just a verbal means of communication, dependent on words formed by an alphabet that was created by the limitations of mankind. There is so much more to be discovered within body language, within voice tone, and within voice intonation. At times, it really isn't the words themselves that provide the understanding, but the underlying tones and the implications following the words. I love that I can understand some people just by making noises that provide absolutely no sense according to the "logic" that are words and the lanuguage. Without even finishing my sentence, my thoughts are formulated and I am able to finish the thought with a mere nod.
